East Ferris, ON – The holiday season is fast approaching and the East Ferris Santa Fund is calling on the community to help fill their baskets for families in need.
The Santa Fund, a local non-profit organization, has been providing Christmas baskets to families in East Ferris for over 30 years. These baskets include food, toys, and other essential items to help make the holiday season a little brighter for those who may be struggling.
According to the Santa Fund’s coordinator, Jane Smith, the demand for baskets has been steadily increasing over the years. “Last year, we were able to provide baskets to 50 families in need. This year, we are expecting that number to be even higher,” she said.
To meet this growing demand, the Santa Fund is asking for donations from the community. “We are in need of non-perishable food items, new toys, and monetary donations,” Smith explained. “Every little bit helps and goes a long way in making a difference in someone’s life.”
The Santa Fund is also looking for volunteers to help with sorting and packing the baskets, as well as delivering them to families in the community. “We couldn’t do this without the support of our dedicated volunteers,” Smith said. “Their time and effort are greatly appreciated.”
The deadline for donations is December 15th, and the baskets will be distributed on December 20th. Families in need can apply for a basket by contacting the Santa Fund directly.
