Tragedy struck a quiet neighborhood in Portage la Prairie as two individuals were found deceased in a home on Monday evening.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), officers were called to the residence on 5th Street NW at around 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside the home.
The identities of the deceased have not been released, pending notification of next of kin. However, the RCMP has confirmed that the two individuals were known to each other and that there is no threat to public safety.
The cause of death has not been determined at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. The RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are assisting with the investigation.
