A suspect in a double slaying on New Year’s Eve in Halifax was found to be wanted in connection with a shooting in Toronto, according to police.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Darian Robert Taylor, was arrested on January 2nd in connection with the deaths of 27-year-old Tyler Richards and 22-year-old Naricho Clayton. The two victims were found shot to death in a vehicle in the early hours of December 31st.

Police in Toronto confirmed that Taylor was also wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on December 29th in the city’s west end. The shooting left a 25-year-old man with serious injuries.

Halifax Regional Police said they received information from Toronto police about Taylor’s possible involvement in the double slaying, leading to his arrest.

Taylor has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Richards and Clayton. He is also facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public in connection with the Toronto shooting.

Police have not released any information about a possible motive for the shootings or the relationship between Taylor and the victims.

Taylor appeared in court on January 4th and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 25th.
