A third individual has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of a man at a Lethbridge motel.
According to Lethbridge Police, 25-year-old Kevan George Gladstone was arrested on January 6 and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Dwayne Demkiw.
Demkiw’s body was discovered on December 17, 2021, at the Superlodge Motel on Mayor Magrath Drive South. An autopsy revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds.
Gladstone is the third person to be charged in this case. 26-year-old Kandi Rose Ratt and 27-year-old Derek Plume were previously arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
Police believe that all three suspects were known to the victim and that the incident was not random.
Gladstone is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 12. Ratt and Plume are also in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on January 19.
