Police charge 2 Mississauga men with multiple firearms, drug-related charges

Two men from Mississauga have been charged by police with multiple firearms and drug-related offenses.

According to Peel Regional Police, the arrests were made on Wednesday, January 6, after a lengthy investigation by the Street Crime Gang Unit.

The two men, aged 25 and 27, were taken into custody at a residence on Darcel Avenue in Mississauga. Police say they seized a loaded handgun, a quantity of cocaine, and a large amount of cash during the arrest.

The 25-year-old man, identified as Javon Williams, has been charged with possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.

The 27-year-old man, identified as Javon Williams, has been charged with possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.

Both men appeared in court on Thursday, January 7, and have been remanded into custody.

Police are reminding the public that illegal firearms and drugs pose a serious threat to the safety of the community and will continue to investigate and prosecute those involved in these activities.
