Break-in near Kelowna's Knox Mountain caught on camera

A recent break-in near Kelowna’s Knox Mountain has been caught on camera, leaving residents concerned about their safety and security.

According to the Kelowna RCMP, the incident occurred on the evening of September 12th at a residence on Royal View Drive. The homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared the footage from their security camera with Castanet News.

The video shows a man approaching the front door of the residence and attempting to open it. When he realizes the door is locked, he proceeds to the side of the house and breaks a window to gain entry. He then spends several minutes inside the home before leaving with stolen items.

The homeowner was alerted to the break-in by their security system and immediately contacted the police. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the incident and no one was harmed.

The Kelowna RCMP is now investigating the break-in and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. They have released a description of the man seen in the video: Caucasian, approximately 5’10” tall, with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes at the time of the break-in.

Residents in the area are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. The RCMP also reminds homeowners to ensure their doors and windows are locked, and to consider installing a security system to deter potential break-ins.

This incident serves as a reminder for all of us to take necessary precautions to protect our homes and belongings. We must work together as a community to keep our neighborhoods safe.
