Kelowna’s annual Maxine DeHart Drive-Thru Breakfast is back and better than ever, raising nearly $1 million for local charities.
The event, which has become a beloved tradition in the community, will take place on Thursday, September 9th at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the breakfast, which was started by local businesswoman and community leader Maxine DeHart.
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the breakfast was held virtually and raised over $100,000 for local charities. However, this year, with restrictions easing, the event will return to its in-person format, allowing attendees to enjoy a delicious breakfast while supporting a good cause.
The breakfast will feature a drive-thru format, with attendees able to purchase tickets for $20 each. The ticket includes a breakfast bag filled with goodies from local businesses, as well as a chance to win one of the many door prizes donated by generous sponsors.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting local charities, including the Central Okanagan Food Bank, the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
Over the past 21 years, the Maxine DeHart Drive-Thru Breakfast has raised an impressive $1.3 million for various charities in the community. This year, the goal is to raise $100,000, and with the overwhelming support from the community, it is expected to be achieved.
The event would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Maxine DeHart and her team of volunteers. Their commitment to giving back to the community has made a significant impact on the lives of many individuals and families in need.
So mark your calendars for September 9th and join in on the fun and philanthropy at the Maxine DeHart Drive-Thru Breakfast. Your support will make a difference in the lives of those in need in our community.
