Niagara Falls Traffic Stop Results in Recovery of Cocaine Fentanyl and a Loaded Firearm

On August 1st, 2023, at 3:30pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to the Community Oriented Response & Engagement Unit (CORE) conducted a traffic stop on a 2022 Kia Rio on Victoria Avenue near Magdalen Street, in the City of Niagara Falls.  The driver failed to identify themselves in accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.  As a result, the driver was advised he was under arrest and was directed to exit the vehicle.  Upon exiting, the driver ran from officers and… Read more…

St. Catharines Detectives Seize Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms) During Search Warrant

In July of 2023, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Street Crime Detectives assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) commenced an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs throughout the City of St. Catharines.

Public Release – Criminal Impaired Driving Offences – July 24th to July 30th, 2023

In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

In addition to being charged, these individuals are also bound by a Ministry of Transportation 90-day Administrative Driver\’s Licence Suspension and are prohibited from operating a motor vehicle on a roadway. The public is encouraged to…
