Kelowna residents experienced a power outage on Tuesday evening due to damage to underground equipment. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm and affected several areas in the city.
According to FortisBC, the power outage was caused by damage to underground equipment, specifically a transformer. Crews were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation and make necessary repairs.
The outage affected approximately 1,500 customers in the areas of Springfield Road, Dilworth Drive, and Enterprise Way. FortisBC was able to restore power to the majority of customers within an hour, with the remaining customers having their power restored by 9:30 pm.
