Calgary Stampeders receiver Jalen Philpot healthy again, looking to make a big impact

After a challenging season filled with injuries, Calgary Stampeders receiver Jalen Philpot is back and ready to make a big impact on the field.

Philpot, who missed the majority of the 2019 season due to a knee injury, has been working hard to get back to full health. He credits his recovery to the support of his teammates and the team’s medical staff.

“I’m feeling great, I’m feeling healthy,” Philpot said in an interview with CTV News. “I’ve been working hard in the off-season to get back to where I need to be.”

The 23-year-old receiver is known for his speed and agility, making him a valuable asset to the Stampeders’ offense. In his rookie season in 2018, Philpot recorded 11 receptions for 157 yards and one touchdown.

But his promising start was cut short when he suffered a knee injury in the third game of the 2019 season. Philpot underwent surgery and spent the rest of the season on the injured list.

“It was definitely tough, especially being a rookie and having to sit out most of the season,” Philpot said. “But I used that time to learn and grow as a player and I’m excited to get back out there.”

With the 2021 CFL season set to kick off in August, Philpot is eager to make up for lost time and contribute to the Stampeders’ success. He has been training hard and is confident in his abilities.

“I’m just looking to come in and make an impact wherever I can,” Philpot said. “I’m ready to do whatever it takes to help this team win.”

Head coach Dave Dickenson has also expressed his excitement for Philpot’s return, praising his work ethic and determination.

“He’s a great kid, he works hard, he’s got a lot of talent,” Dickenson said. “We’re excited to see what he can do this season.”

As the Stampeders gear up for the upcoming season, Philpot’s return is a welcome addition to the team. With his speed and skills, he is sure to make a big impact on the field and help lead the Stampeders to victory.
