1 dead in southern Alberta tanker crash

A tragic collision on Highway 2 in southern Alberta has claimed the lives of two individuals.

According to the RCMP, the incident occurred on Saturday evening near the town of Nanton. A pickup truck and a car collided head-on, resulting in the death of both drivers.

The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their families. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The highway was closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and gather evidence. It has since been reopened to traffic.

This is not the first fatal collision to occur on Highway 2 in recent months. In November, three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash near the town of Claresholm.
