Actor and comedian Bob Odenkirk delighted fans at a Winnipeg Goldeyes game on Tuesday night as he threw the first pitch in front of a packed stadium.
The “Better Call Saul” star, who is currently in Winnipeg filming the upcoming movie “Nobody”, took to the mound at Shaw Park to throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Goldeyes took on the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
Dressed in a Goldeyes jersey with his name and the number 1 on the back, Odenkirk confidently threw the ball to Goldeyes catcher Kevin Garcia, much to the cheers and applause of the crowd.
The 58-year-old actor, known for his roles in “Breaking Bad” and “Mr. Show with Bob and David”, seemed to be enjoying himself as he waved to the crowd and posed for photos with fans.
Odenkirk’s appearance at the game was a surprise to many, as he had not been announced as a special guest beforehand. However, Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said that the team was thrilled to have him there.
“We were contacted by the production company for the movie ‘Nobody’ and they asked if Bob could throw out the first pitch,” Collier said. “We were more than happy to accommodate him.”
The Goldeyes also presented Odenkirk with a personalized jersey and a team hat, which he wore throughout the game.
Fans took to social media to share their excitement about Odenkirk’s appearance, with many expressing their admiration for the actor and his work.
Odenkirk’s visit to Winnipeg has been met with much enthusiasm, as he has been spotted around the city filming scenes for “Nobody”. The movie, which is set to be released in 2021, also stars Connie Nielsen and Christopher Lloyd.
As the game continued, Odenkirk stayed to watch and even joined in on the seventh inning stretch, singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” with the crowd.
It was a memorable night for both Odenkirk and Goldeyes fans, as the actor’s surprise appearance added an extra level of excitement to the game. And with the Goldeyes winning 6-3, it was truly a night to remember for all in attendance.
