A man is in critical condition after an argument turned violent in Brampton on Sunday evening.
According to Peel Regional Police, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Queen Street East and Kennedy Road.
Witnesses reported seeing two men engaged in a heated argument before one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the other.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and is still at large. He is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5’10” with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation. They are also reminding the public not to approach the suspect if spotted, but to call 911 immediately.
The area was cordoned off for several hours as police gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to contact them.
