Over 100 backpacks were distributed to at-risk children in Calgary’s southeast community, providing much-needed support for families in need.
The initiative, organized by the Calgary Police Service and the Calgary Police Foundation, aimed to provide essential school supplies to children who may not have access to them otherwise. The backpacks were filled with items such as notebooks, pencils, and other school essentials, helping to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensuring that children have the tools they need to succeed in their education.

Sergeant Jason Walker, who helped organize the event, emphasized the importance of supporting at-risk children in the community. “We know that many families in this area may struggle to provide their children with the necessary school supplies. By providing these backpacks, we hope to alleviate some of that stress and help these children start the school year on the right foot,” he said.
