A vehicle has been impounded by the North Bay OPP after the driver was caught excessively speeding.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Highway 11 near North Bay on Tuesday afternoon. The driver was allegedly traveling at a speed of 160 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
The North Bay OPP were conducting a routine speed enforcement when they noticed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officers immediately pursued the vehicle and were able to stop it safely.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was also operating the vehicle with a suspended license. As a result, the vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver was charged with excessive speeding and driving with a suspended license.
The North Bay OPP is reminding all drivers to obey the speed limit and to always have a valid driver’s license while operating a vehicle. Excessive speeding not only puts the driver at risk, but also endangers the lives of others on the road.
