A man has been charged after a woman was chased with a knife in Chatham-Kent, according to local police.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, when Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) received a call about a man chasing a woman with a knife in the area of Grand Avenue East and Lacroix Street.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and arrested him without incident. The woman was not injured during the incident.

The 33-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
