3 men, teenage boy charged in Etobicoke carjacking attempt

Four individuals have been charged in connection with a carjacking attempt in Etobicoke, according to Toronto police.

On Monday, December 14, at around 10:30 p.m., a man was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Kipling Avenue and Westhumber Boulevard when he was approached by three men and a teenage boy.

The group allegedly demanded the man’s car keys and when he refused, they assaulted him and attempted to take his vehicle by force.

Fortunately, the victim was able to escape and call the police. The suspects fled the scene in a separate vehicle.

After an investigation, police were able to locate and arrest the four suspects on Wednesday, December 16.

19-year-old Jaden Williams, 18-year-old Jalen Williams, 18-year-old Javon Williams, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to their age, have all been charged with attempted robbery, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The Williams brothers have also been charged with breach of probation.

Police are reminding the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
