The Powassan Voodoos, a junior hockey team in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), have made a significant acquisition in their pursuit of a championship title. The team has acquired forward, Ryan McAllister, from the Markham Royals of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
McAllister, a 19-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, has been a standout player for the Royals, recording 14 goals and 17 assists in 41 games this season. He also brings a wealth of experience to the Voodoos, having played in the OJHL for the past three seasons.
Voodoos head coach, Max Gavin, expressed his excitement about the addition of McAllister to the team. “Ryan is a skilled and dynamic player who will bring a lot of speed and offensive prowess to our lineup,” Gavin said. “We are thrilled to have him join our team and we believe he will make an immediate impact on the ice.”
McAllister is equally excited about joining the Voodoos and is looking forward to contributing to the team’s success. “I am grateful for the opportunity to play for such a strong and competitive team like the Voodoos,” he said. “I am ready to work hard and help the team achieve their goals.”
The Voodoos currently sit in second place in the NOJHL standings with a record of 29-12-1-1. With the addition of McAllister, the team hopes to continue their strong performance and make a push for the championship title.
The trade was made possible through the NOJHL’s player development agreement with the OJHL, which allows for the movement of players between the two leagues.
The Voodoos will welcome McAllister to the team as they take on the Rayside-Balfour Canadians on February 14th. Fans can expect to see McAllister in action and witness his impact on the team’s performance.
