A federal offender has been arrested in the town of Prescott, according to local authorities.
The arrest was made by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Tuesday, following an investigation by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad.
The offender, whose identity has not been disclosed, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching their parole conditions.
The ROPE Squad, which is responsible for locating and apprehending federal offenders who have violated their parole, worked closely with the OPP to track down the individual.
The arrest was made without incident and the offender is currently in police custody.
According to the OPP, the individual will be held for a bail hearing and will face charges for breaching their parole conditions.
The ROPE Squad was established in 2006 and is made up of members from the OPP, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).
Their main objective is to ensure the safety of the public by locating and apprehending federal offenders who have violated their parole.
