Man wanted in connection with killings in Edmonton, Calgary arrested in NY

A man who was wanted in connection with multiple killings in Edmonton and Calgary has been arrested in New York.

According to authorities, the suspect, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody by the New York Police Department on Tuesday.

The man was wanted in connection with the deaths of three people in Edmonton and one person in Calgary. The killings occurred between December 2020 and January 2021.

The Edmonton Police Service had issued a Canada-wide warrant for the suspect’s arrest on January 12, 2021. The warrant was for two counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder.

The Calgary Police Service also had a warrant for the suspect’s arrest for one count of first-degree murder.

The suspect was located and arrested in New York after a joint investigation by the Edmonton Police Service, Calgary Police Service, and the New York Police Department.

The Edmonton Police Service has confirmed that the suspect will be extradited to Canada to face charges in connection with the killings.

The identities of the victims have not been released, and the motive for the killings is still under investigation.
