Thousands of Quebecers are still without power as a major utility company works to restore electricity after a severe storm swept through the province.
According to Hydro-Quebec, over 100,000 customers were left without power on Monday morning due to strong winds and heavy rain. As of Tuesday evening, approximately 20,000 customers were still experiencing outages.
The storm, which hit the province on Sunday, caused significant damage to power lines and equipment, resulting in widespread outages. Hydro-Quebec has been working around the clock to repair the damage and restore power to affected areas.
Despite their efforts, many Quebecers are still facing the inconvenience of being without electricity. Some have been without power for over 48 hours, causing frustration and concern for those who rely on electricity for essential needs such as heating and refrigeration.
In response to the situation, Hydro-Quebec has deployed over 1,000 employees and contractors to assist with the restoration efforts. They have also brought in additional resources from neighboring provinces to help speed up the process.
The utility company has stated that they are prioritizing areas with the most significant number of outages and are working diligently to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. However, they have warned that some customers may still experience outages for several more days.

The storm and resulting power outages have also caused disruptions to public transportation, with several bus and train routes being affected. The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has announced that they are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
