Two people have tragically lost their lives and three others have been injured in a vehicle rollover near The Pas, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
The incident occurred on Saturday evening on Highway 10, approximately 20 kilometers north of The Pas. The vehicle, which was carrying five occupants, rolled over and landed in a ditch.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders found two individuals, a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, deceased. The three other occupants, a 24-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, and a 19-year-old woman, were transported to hospital with varying degrees of injuries.
The RCMP is currently investigating the cause of the rollover and has not released any further details at this time. The highway was closed for several hours while the investigation took place, but has since been reopened.
The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
