Two young individuals have been left with serious injuries after being shot by police in Innisfil, according to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, when officers from the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a call about a disturbance at a residence on 25th Sideroad. Upon arrival, they encountered two youths who were allegedly armed with weapons.
According to the SIU, a confrontation ensued between the officers and the youths, resulting in both individuals being shot. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
