Skies clear for headliners as Country Thunder rolls into weekend of music

The stage is set and the skies are clear as the highly anticipated Country Thunder music festival rolls into the weekend in Calgary.

Thousands of country music fans have flocked to Prairie Winds Park to catch a glimpse of some of the biggest names in the industry, including headliners Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, and Kane Brown.

The festival kicked off on Thursday with a lineup of talented artists, including Canadian country star Brett Kissel and American singer-songwriter Kip Moore. The energy was high as fans sang along to their favorite songs and danced the night away.

Friday’s lineup did not disappoint, with performances from country music icons Terri Clark and Clay Walker, as well as rising stars like Tenille Townes and James Barker Band.

Saturday’s headliner, Luke Combs, drew in a massive crowd as he belted out hits like “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Beautiful Crazy”. Fans were also treated to performances by Morgan Wallen, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Meghan Patrick.

The festival will wrap up on Sunday with performances by Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, and Dallas Smith, among others.

In addition to the impressive lineup, Country Thunder also offers a variety of food and beverage options, as well as activities like a mechanical bull and a giant slide.

Organizers have worked hard to ensure the safety of attendees, implementing COVID-19 protocols such as mandatory masks and increased sanitation measures.
