A driver has been seriously injured in a crash that resulted in the closure of the Deerfoot Trail off-ramp on Monday evening.
According to Calgary police, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a vehicle lost control and crashed into a barrier on the off-ramp from southbound Deerfoot Trail to eastbound Glenmore Trail.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital in critical condition.
The off-ramp was closed for several hours as police investigated the scene and crews worked to clear the wreckage.
Traffic was diverted onto Blackfoot Trail during the closure, causing significant delays for commuters.
