Kelowna, BC – As the winter season approaches, Canadians are gearing up for one of their favorite pastimes – hockey. And in Kelowna, a special event is taking place to preserve and celebrate this beloved winter sport.
Play On, a national street hockey tournament, is coming to Kelowna on November 13th and 14th. This event, organized by the non-profit organization Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On!, aims to promote and preserve the game of hockey by providing a fun and inclusive experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
The tournament will take place on the streets of downtown Kelowna, with over 100 teams expected to participate. The event is open to both male and female players, with divisions for youth, adults, and even a corporate division for local businesses to compete in.
But Play On is not just about the competition. It also serves as a platform to give back to the community. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting local charities and organizations, such as the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association and the Kelowna Food Bank.
In addition to the tournament, there will also be a variety of activities and entertainment for spectators to enjoy. From live music to food trucks, there will be something for everyone to enjoy while cheering on their favorite teams.
Play On has been a staple in Canadian communities for over 20 years, with over 2 million participants and 1,000 tournaments held across the country. It has become a tradition for many families and friends to come together and bond over their love for hockey.
So mark your calendars and come out to support this great event in Kelowna. Let’s continue to preserve and celebrate one of Canada’s greatest winter sports – hockey. For more information and to register your team, visit the Play On website.
