YRP release video as they search for suspects in attempted carjacking

York Regional Police have released a video as they continue their search for suspects involved in an attempted carjacking in the city of Vaughan.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on December 12th at around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and Dufferin Street. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects.

The video, captured by a nearby surveillance camera, shows the suspects approaching the victim’s vehicle and attempting to open the door. When the victim resisted, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. The victim was able to drive away and call the police.

The first suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10” with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black mask at the time of the incident. The second suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8″ with a slim build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, and a black mask.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with their investigation. They are also reminding the public to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially when sitting in their vehicles.
