Yellowknife RCMP have successfully arrested a man wanted in connection to a random shooting that occurred in Edmonton back in July.
According to authorities, the suspect, who has not been named, was taken into custody on Wednesday after a joint effort between the Yellowknife RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service.
The shooting, which took place on July 15, left one person injured and caused widespread concern in the community. The victim, who has also not been identified, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was identified as a 25-year-old man from Yellowknife and was wanted on multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The Yellowknife RCMP had been actively searching for the suspect since the shooting occurred and were able to locate and arrest him with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court in Edmonton to face the charges against him.
