The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards are just around the corner, and the nominees are buzzing with excitement for the big event on Saturday.
The CCMA Awards, which celebrate the best in Canadian country music, will be held in Edmonton this year. The nominees, who were announced earlier this year, are eager to see who will take home the coveted awards.
One of the nominees, country music duo The Reklaws, shared their excitement in an interview with CTV News. “It’s such an honour to be nominated alongside so many talented artists,” said Jenna Walker, one half of the duo. “We can’t wait to see everyone and celebrate the amazing music that has come out of Canada this year.”
Another nominee, country singer and songwriter Tenille Townes, expressed her gratitude for the recognition. “I am so grateful to be nominated for Female Artist of the Year,” she said. “It’s a dream come true to be recognized by the CCMA and to be a part of such an incredible community of artists.”
The CCMA Awards will also feature performances by some of the biggest names in Canadian country music, including Dean Brody, Dallas Smith, and Jess Moskaluke.
In addition to the excitement surrounding the awards, the CCMA has also announced that they will be partnering with the Unison Benevolent Fund, a non-profit organization that provides support to members of the Canadian music industry in times of crisis. A portion of the proceeds from the awards show will be donated to the fund.
The CCMA Awards will be broadcast live on CTV and streamed on CTV.ca on Saturday, September 11 at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can also catch the red carpet pre-show on CTV and CTV.ca at 7 p.m. ET.
