Homicide unit notified after 'incident' at park in Keswick: YRP

The York Regional Police (YRP) have been notified of a potential homicide at a park in Keswick, according to a statement released by the YRP on Monday.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Stephen Leacock Park, located on Wexford Drive. The YRP were called to the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

The YRP Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
