A suspicious death on Vancouver Island has left the community in shock and mourning.
According to the RCMP, the body of a 35-year-old man was discovered in a residence on the 3000 block of Quadra Street in Victoria on Monday afternoon. The man’s identity has not been released at this time.
Police were initially called to the residence for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they found the man’s body and deemed the death to be suspicious.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has taken over the investigation and is working with the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of death.
At this time, no arrests have been made and police have not released any information about potential suspects.
The neighbourhood where the incident occurred is described as quiet and family-oriented, with many residents expressing shock and concern over the incident.
The RCMP is asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and speak with investigators.
