A stolen vehicle has caused significant damage after crashing into two homes in North York, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, when a stolen vehicle was being pursued by police in the area of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen earlier that day, lost control and crashed into two homes on Jane Street.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash. However, both homes sustained significant damage, with one of them having a large hole in the side of the building.
Police have confirmed that the driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot and is still at large. They are currently investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Residents in the area were shocked by the incident, with one witness stating that they heard a loud bang and then saw the vehicle crash into the homes. Another witness reported seeing the driver flee the scene.
This is not the first time a stolen vehicle has caused damage in the North York area. In October, a stolen vehicle crashed into a home on Sentinel Road, causing extensive damage.
Police are reminding the public to always report any suspicious activity and to never leave their vehicles unattended with the keys inside. They also urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the driver to contact them immediately.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and police are working to identify and locate the driver responsible. Updates will be provided as they become available.
