Crash on Corydon leaves pedestrian dead: Winnipeg police

A tragic accident on Corydon Avenue has left a pedestrian dead, according to Winnipeg police.

The incident occurred on Monday evening, when emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Corydon Avenue near Hugo Street.

Upon arrival, first responders found a male pedestrian with serious injuries. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation. At this time, no charges have been laid.

The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The area was closed off for several hours as police conducted their investigation. Traffic was diverted while officers gathered evidence and spoke to witnesses.
