A woman has been taken into custody after a stabbing incident at a downtown apartment building, according to Toronto Police.
The incident occurred on Monday evening at an apartment building located on Sherbourne Street, near Dundas Street East. Police were called to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman with multiple stab wounds. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
According to witnesses, the victim and the suspect, who are believed to know each other, were involved in a verbal altercation before the stabbing occurred.
The suspect, a 32-year-old woman, was located and arrested by police shortly after the incident. She is currently in custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault.
