Tragedy struck the Birchmount and Chelwood neighborhoods of Toronto as two people were found dead in a home on Monday afternoon.
According to Toronto police, officers were called to a residence on Chelwood Road, near Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East, around 1:30 p.m. for a wellness check. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside the home.
The identities of the deceased have not been released, pending notification of next of kin. However, police have confirmed that they were both adults.
At this time, the cause of death has not been determined and police are treating the incident as suspicious. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in their investigation.
