A 15-year-old suspect has been identified in the double homicide that occurred in Hamilton, according to police.
The incident took place on Monday, when officers responded to a call about a shooting at a residence on Gordon Street. Upon arrival, they found two victims, a 39-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
After an investigation, police have identified the suspect as a 15-year-old male, who cannot be named due to his age. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is currently in custody.
The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, but police believe it was a targeted attack and that the suspect and victims knew each other.
