Woman stabbed while waiting for bus at River and Osborne, Winnipeg police say

A violent incident occurred in the River-Osborne area of Winnipeg on Tuesday evening, leaving one person injured and another in police custody.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers were called to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The suspect, a 25-year-old male, was located and arrested by police shortly after the incident. He is currently in custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

The motive behind the stabbing is still under investigation, but police believe the two individuals were known to each other.

The River-Osborne area was temporarily closed off as police conducted their investigation. Residents were advised to avoid the area and to expect delays.
