A Brampton man is facing multiple charges in connection with a violent home invasion and two armed robberies, according to police.

The incidents occurred on January 15 and 16 in the area of Queen Street East and Bramalea Road.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly forced his way into a home and assaulted the occupants before fleeing with stolen items. The following day, the same suspect is believed to have committed two armed robberies at separate convenience stores in the same area.

Police were able to identify and arrest the suspect, 27-year-old John Smith, on January 18. He has been charged with multiple counts of robbery, break and enter, and assault causing bodily harm.

The victims of the home invasion and robberies sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Smith appeared in court on January 19 and has been remanded into custody.

Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and contact investigators. They are also reminding the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods.

This is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
