Firefighters successfully extinguished a blaze that broke out in a building in the community of Ogden on Tuesday evening.
According to the Calgary Fire Department, crews were called to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. after reports of smoke and flames coming from a commercial building on Ogden Road S.E.
Upon arrival, firefighters quickly worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring structures. The blaze was brought under control within an hour, with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials say it appears to have started in the basement of the building. The extent of the damage is also being assessed.
Residents in the area were advised to avoid the area while crews worked to extinguish the fire. Ogden Road S.E. was temporarily closed to traffic, but has since reopened.
