A man was trapped in his car for almost 45 minutes after a collision in North York, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue. The man’s vehicle was struck by another car, causing it to flip over and become wedged between a light pole and a tree.
Emergency services were called to the scene and worked to free the man from his vehicle. It took nearly 45 minutes to safely remove him from the car.
The man was then transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision and have not released any further details at this time.
The intersection was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the incident. It has since been reopened to traffic.
