In an interview with CTV News, City of Calgary Entomologist, Ken Black, explained that the early emergence of mosquitos is due to the mild winter and early spring we have experienced. Black also advised Calgarians to take precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites, such as wearing long-sleeved clothing and using insect repellent. He also reminded residents to eliminate any standing water around their homes, as it serves as a breeding ground for mosquitos.
