Winnipeg police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in the city’s North End on Monday.
According to a press release from the Winnipeg Police Service, officers responded to a report of a deceased person in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers located the body of an adult male. The victim has not been identified at this time.
The WPS Major Crimes Unit is now leading the investigation, with assistance from the Homicide Unit.
Police have not released any further details about the circumstances surrounding the death, but are asking anyone with information to come forward.
This is the second suspicious death in Winnipeg in less than a week. Last Thursday, a man was found dead in a home on the 500 block of Sherbrook Street.
