A man has been hospitalized after walking into a Calgary hospital with gunshot wounds on Monday evening.
According to Calgary police, the man arrived at the hospital around 7:30 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. He is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of 3 Avenue S.W., near the Calgary Courts Centre. Police say they received reports of gunshots in the area and found evidence of a shooting.
At this time, no suspects have been identified and the motive for the shooting is still unknown. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact them.
The Calgary Police Service’s Gang Enforcement Team is also investigating the incident, as it is believed to be gang-related.
This is the second shooting in the downtown area in less than a week. Last Thursday, a man was shot and killed in the 200 block of 15 Avenue S.E. Police have not yet made any arrests in that case.
