Kelowna to host hip-hop and R&B festival and conference later this month

Kelowna, a city known for its beautiful landscapes and thriving wine industry, is set to host a new and exciting event later this month. The first-ever hip hop and R&B festival and conference will take place in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, bringing together music lovers and industry professionals for a weekend of celebration and education.

The festival, aptly named “Okanagan Flow”, will showcase a diverse lineup of talented artists from across Canada and the United States. Headliners include Grammy-nominated rapper Tory Lanez, R&B sensation Jessie Reyez, and rising star bbno$. Local artists such as DJ Invizible and rapper Kimmortal will also take the stage, highlighting the vibrant hip hop and R&B scene in the Okanagan.

In addition to the musical performances, the festival will also feature a conference component, providing a platform for industry experts to share their knowledge and insights. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend panels, workshops, and networking events, gaining valuable insights into the music industry and its ever-evolving landscape.

The idea for Okanagan Flow was born out of a desire to showcase the diversity and talent within the hip hop and R&B genres, while also providing a space for education and networking. Festival organizer, Jauzlynn, explains, “We wanted to create an event that not only celebrates the music, but also provides a platform for artists and industry professionals to connect and learn from each other.”

The festival will take place on August 27th and 28th at the Kelowna Community Theatre and Rotary Centre for the Arts. Tickets are available for purchase online and range from single-day passes to VIP packages. With limited capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions, organizers are encouraging attendees to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Okanagan Flow is not only a celebration of music, but also a celebration of the vibrant and diverse community in Kelowna. The festival aims to bring people together and create a sense of unity through the power of music. So mark your calendars and get ready to experience the first-ever hip hop and R&B festival and conference in the beautiful city of Kelowna.
