On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 9:37pm, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended a residence in the area of Oblate Street and Garnet Street in the City of St. Catharines in response to an Armed Person call.
Investigation revealed that two males attended the residence and confronted one of the home owners with firearms asking for a particular person. The victim was able to flee the scene with no physical injuries. The males were last seen running southbound on Oblate Street toward Garnet Street.
The suspects are described as:
1) White male, wearing black hoodie
2) White male, in his forties, wearing all black
Uniform officers, the Emergency Task Unit and the K9 unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area however had negative results in locating the suspects.
1 District Detectives have taken carriage of the investigation.
This appears to be a targeted event.
