First-degree murder charge for 17-year-old in fatal Forest Lawn stabbing

A 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Forest Lawn neighborhood of Calgary.

According to police, the incident occurred on the evening of April 24, when officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence on 44 Street SE. Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Mohamed Nasir, a resident of Calgary. His death has been ruled a homicide.

After an investigation, police arrested a 17-year-old male on April 26. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court on May 3.

The accused cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police have not released any information about a possible motive for the stabbing or the relationship between the victim and the accused.

This tragic incident has left the community of Forest Lawn in shock and mourning. Many residents have expressed their condolences to the victim’s family and are calling for justice to be served.
