Youth drive stolen vehicle on soccer field, beach before Peterborough crash: police

A group of young individuals caused chaos in Peterborough, Ontario on Saturday night after stealing a vehicle and driving it recklessly on a soccer field and beach before ultimately crashing, according to police.

The incident began when the suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, stole a vehicle from a residence in the area. They then proceeded to drive the stolen vehicle onto a nearby soccer field, causing damage to the turf.

After causing destruction on the soccer field, the suspects then drove the vehicle onto a nearby beach, where they continued to drive recklessly. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle driving at high speeds and performing dangerous maneuvers on the beach.

The joyride came to an abrupt end when the suspects crashed the stolen vehicle into a parked car on the beach. Police were immediately called to the scene and the suspects were taken into custody.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. However, the soccer field and beach sustained significant damage as a result of the reckless driving.

The suspects, who are all minors, are facing charges of theft, dangerous driving, and mischief. They have been released into the custody of their parents and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
