A lucky individual in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is now $55 million richer after purchasing the winning ticket for the Lotto Max jackpot. The winning numbers were drawn on Friday night, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has confirmed that the ticket was sold in the GTA.
The winning numbers for the $55 million jackpot were 2, 10, 17, 19, 44, 47, and 50, with the bonus number being 18. The OLG has not yet revealed the exact location where the ticket was purchased, but they have confirmed that it was sold in the GTA.
This is the second time this year that a Lotto Max jackpot has been won in the GTA. In January, a ticket worth $70 million was sold in Brampton. The OLG has stated that the winner of the $55 million jackpot has one year to claim their prize.
The OLG also announced that there were two other winning tickets for the Lotto Max draw on Friday night. One ticket, worth $1 million, was sold in the Hamilton area, while the other, worth $500,000, was sold in the Ottawa area.
The Lotto Max jackpot has been steadily growing since April 23, when it was last won. The maximum jackpot for the game is $70 million, and if it is not won, it will continue to grow until it reaches that amount.
The OLG has reminded players to check their tickets carefully, as there were also 56 Maxmillions prizes of $1 million each up for grabs in Friday’s draw. The winning numbers for these prizes were 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 48, 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, and 67.
The OLG has also reminded players to play responsibly and to only spend what they can afford. They have also encouraged players to sign their tickets as soon as they purchase them and to keep them in a safe place until they can be checked.
The next Lotto Max draw will take place on Tuesday, May 18, with an estimated jackpot of $70 million. Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers or online at PlayOLG.ca.
