Teens charged following incident involving weapons at Red River Ex: police

Two teenagers have been charged after an incident involving weapons at the Red River Ex, according to Winnipeg police.

On Saturday evening, police responded to reports of a disturbance at the annual fair. Witnesses reported seeing two individuals with weapons, including a firearm and a machete.

Upon arrival, police located and arrested the two suspects, both 17 years old. They were charged with numerous weapons-related offenses and were remanded into custody.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The Red River Ex released a statement following the incident, stating that the safety and security of their guests is their top priority. They also thanked the Winnipeg police for their swift response and handling of the situation.

Police are reminding the public that weapons are not permitted at the Red River Ex and anyone found in possession of a weapon will be charged accordingly.
