A woman is currently being questioned by authorities after an alleged attempted kidnapping in Montreal.

According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the borough of Saint-Laurent. A 10-year-old girl was walking home from school when she was approached by a woman in a vehicle. The woman reportedly asked the girl to get into her car, but the child refused and ran away.

The girl immediately told her parents about the incident, who then contacted the police. The authorities launched an investigation and were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle. The woman was taken into custody for questioning.

The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) has confirmed that the woman is known to them and has a history of mental health issues. They are currently working to determine her intentions and any potential links to other similar incidents.
